Does the 4kq use the "bomb" type brake accumulator?

Nope. It's vacuum assist with an extra vacuum pump run off the cam, I believe.
The urq is a "bomb" system but it uses ATF, not Pento$in, and I think the bomb is a different style than the one used on the 5000 series.

Vacuum pump
In reality, you don't need that vacuum pump. Mine started clacking something FIERCE, and a wise individual told me I could just remove this 3" steel cam follower from the pump, and voila...no more clacking. Works just fine with no vacuum problems. Apparently this was an accessory that would help keep vacuum to the brake booster when braking while hitting the gas. Go figure.

I've heard that too. I suppose I could even change over my urq to vacuum given that....
bit of knowledge. Actually, the urq system is a little cheaper to fix than the 5000. You can just replace the grenade looking thing for $60 compared to several hundred for the 5000 version.
