new rotors

the right front rotor on my 84 4kq is all chewed up and gross. are there any better ones than the blaufergnugen ones? any comments on the blau rotors bc it looks like thats what im getting..

Balu rotors are just...

The ATE power disc's right? I used to have them on my 5000 w/ Metal master brake pads and they were OK. Nothing spectacular...

I've moved on to Zimmerman rotors and Jurid pads and they seem to be just as good...

ATE's aren't good?

Steve, a little off the subject. Building an '84 GTI as a FSP Autocrosser and was recommended that we put ATE Power Discs and Mintex Red Box Pads if we want to keep stock sizes and calipers. Is this a less than desirable setup?

Use the ATE pads with the ATE rotors...
works great on my 4kq! but then again i upgraded
to 90 brakes and rotors..

but the ATE pads are organic and don't ruin
the slotted rotors like semi-metallics do.

Yeah, I think that on my heavier 5000 the combo of a metallic pad and the ATE rotors just wasn't all that great. Maybe those ATE or non-metallic pads would have made a better choice. My ATE rotors got shredded with the Metal Masters...
