3B into 84WR - rear diff

Just want to check with you guys which rear differential you recommend with a 3B swap? We have swapped the engine and transmission from an Audi 200tq and that has a torsion diff and i understand a different ratio on the rear than the ur?

Use the 200q 20v tranny...... with a 4kq rear diff

It has the 4:11 final drive yet a nice gear ratios for the highway... a nice compromise between the 4kq 4:11 and Ur-q 3.90.
You need to change your rear diff to one from an '84- early '85 4kq (large singe piece casting).
On the tranny, you'll need to swap the speedo sensor and the drive gear, not a big deal at all.
Torsen is very nice with the 20v...

Martin, what about the shift linkage?

I was talking to Ken Fluhr the other weekend at the USGP and he said something about having to modify/fab a new shift linkage if switching to the 200q20v transmission? Was this the case on your car, or did the stock linkage work fine?

is it a 10v or 20v 200 tranny?

The 200 10v and the 5000q both use the same 3.89 gear ratio as the urq. A 200 10v has the torsen (torque sensing) differential but they've both got pretty tall gears. Like Martin says, if you're up for swapping the rear end too, going with a 4.11 gear ratio is nice.
