Default 'Cause a 20vt in a CGT rockets it around the track.

Extra weight is all over the front wheels, too, where you want it. A lot of fun to drive, I would imagine, though I've only ridden in one. They're so light, you don't need to beef the engine for the most part. Adding a chip is plenty.

Default dood...you ever priced a 20v turbo swap into anything???

Why waste that kind of dough on such a pedestrian vehicle such as a front wheel drive Audi coupe?

Come for a ride in my MC1 powered CGT and ask yourself that. It is such a light car that it hangs with 20Vs with just a 10V.

Sure a quattro would handle better through the twisties, but the CGT handles good too and will blow doors on a quat in a straight line with similar power under the hood.

An Audi without quattro may be a VW, but there are some damn quick VWs out there!

Why not take a peak on motorgeek and ask why Alan kramer installed a v8 into a coupe gt?.

Why not ask JAvad why his b3 audi 90 sedan has 700hp?

Why not ask why people drop in 1.8T's into rabbits.

Quattro can be "overated". It's not gods gift to the world.

Sex with an ugly girl can be good sex too you know.

People have too much of an ego.

This all being said.. I've done the 20vT swap and I've done them preity cheap.

Enough of my rant.

Default Nobody said stronger running gear makes swap into urq less $$

Hot engine in a cgt sounds pretty cool. I was just thinking the cgt running gear might not be able to handle the power so it might turn out to be more expensive than swapping into a urq. True?

The 87.5 cgt got a stronger tranny and cv joints - so that's where I'm coming from.

CGT seems to be holding up fine tranny wise (I do have an '87 tranny BTW w/hydraulic clutch), but I did install a Quaife diff to help smooth out the launches.
