Default Hey guys, it's been awhile, Here's my Urq saga....

I found a juction box that had seen some high voltage run thru it. The box itself has some burn marks on it. The three wires into it were burned butnot to bad. Their plastic covers however broke apart when disconnectiong it. The one out wire and jumper wire were slightly burned. Will replace the entire unit.

Now I figured out why my windows, wipers, lights and radiator fan don't work. Somehow my radiator fan is stuck on high speed. I figured this out by slightly pulling out the load reduction relay which tricked it on. It would only last for a few seconds before the relay would kick off. As I trick the fan on with the load relay, everything works. So somehow the radiator fans is drawing constant power from somewhere and is tricking the load reduction relay into thinking i'm in the process of starting the car. My questions are what does that juction box do and is there anyway to open the 1983 fuse box? I find it odd that the load red. relay will open when pulled out slighty.

Another question; could there be a temp sending unit that has failed and is keeping the fan on constantly? I ran my urq back from Carlisle under a pretty good load seeing that it was raining the whole way up so lights, wipers, fan, 7 hours straight didn't help much.

Default I had the same problem

My high speed fan was always running because the little micro switch in the center console that kicks the fan on when you slide the lower A/C lever all the way to the left was stuck. The lever engaged the switch, but when I went to shut the A/C off (slide the lever to the right) one of the arms connected to the lever disengaged and was pushing on the switch.
