Urq paint job update
There is none. It was promised to me by May 17th, then by the end of June so I could show it to Dean Treadway at LRP July 4th weekend, not I told him I need it by August 14th for UPG. As of now, I have paid for the paint stripping ($1100), materials ($500) and some labor($300). I may have to go get it and drag it out of his shop the way it sits and demand the $800 back that I have given to the body shop. Does this sound fair to you guys? How to I get him to get it done by the date HE promised it? I'm worried it will be in there too long and parts will be lost or broken. Any advice??

If in your State you have Bureau of Automotive Repairs they are the best to deal with situations like this.In many cases one phone call from them does magic. Do not wait to long, automotive businesses have tendency to disappear over night, not all but the bad one.My suggestion would be to take car out, looks like this guy can not be trusted.

Put your foot down.
If your getting the run around, you need to let the owner know that you wont take any more crap.
Seems from what you have said that he's had more than enough time, and if he's too busy he should have told you. If he gives you some sad story do as the others say. Either remove the car or inform the mediator.

Its primered, and the deck lid, rear spoiler and hood are ready for paint....
I went yesterday and there was good progress! The rust hole in the spare tire well was patched and primered, the passenger side rocker panel was repaired, and a beautiful job at that. Today I'm taking my Bentley there for the specs on undercoating and he wants to put some "chip guard" under the paint in certain spots. Also bringing the rain gutters and door trim for him to paint. While I was there I saw a Ford truck that he replaced a front fender on and painted...all I can say is "wow". His work is just_that_good. As of now it looks promising for the 8/14 delivery date.

Yep. I've been going to his shop for years with my urq just so over time he would become familiar with the car and with what I'm looking for. Also, he did some work on my 4kq that was pretty darn good. Are you going to be able to come up for the UPG meet on the 27th of August?
