I guess they are thinking the racing history has value.
I hope they get their price, but IMO that is "all the money" for a cut up car (arguments please). Personally, I would think a stock original '85 would be worth more. But that's just me I guess...

Race history is fickle
If it was raced by a really big name person, it can jack the price up considerably. But if it is a no-name racer, then it can actually lower the value.

I agree. So WHO drove it anyway? If it were Paul Newman or Gene Hackman, maybe that would help.
To me, that is just a cut up '85 track car that looks nice. I would think market value would be $10-$13k, if you could find someone to spend that much on a track car.

As a matter of fact, there was a PLN car on ebay a few weeks ago...
It was a Newman/Sharp Datsun 510, that he had won a championship with. The seller had complete documentatin on the car (log books, etc.), and the price for the car was comensurate with that provenance. THAT would be a car worth paying big money for. This UrQ though, as you said, is nothing more than a used race car and one that can't even operate well on normal gas.

I do not understand why you guys so negative about it !!!
Lets promote our Quattros, if he sale it will be good for all of us. Just perhaps the 25 years old and older cars we have and love will go up in value.
