That's quite similar to one of mine. Where yours is 417C mine is 417A. Your MON2 corresponds to my MGN3. Mine is also presumably the stock item out of an '85 WX, though it's tough to be certain 20 years and several owners down the line.
That hand-etched CA makes me wonder if yours is a special California-spec item, but I've never heard of any differences for CA cars. Was your car originally from the left coast?
I'll have to pop the cam cover on the '86 to see what marks she's got. I can see WZO through the oil filler (my second spare also has WZO). The idle is quite lumpy so it's certainly an agressive profile.
Maybe I can talk Saltino into pulling the cover off my '85 WX before he finishes the install into the 4KQ. It's got a cam from Kim Collins in the UK, but again neither the PO nor the invoice from Kim could tell me if it was just a WR or something else.

I'm not sure where the original purchase was made....
The cam is from Justin Rileys blue 85. He may know the history of the car, or Bill Bremer maybe.
My white 85 came from Brumos Porsche when they were in Atlanta. Wait...it just hit me...the cam I described is out of my white 85! I remember replacing it with Justins because the cam pulley key way got a little sloppy. If I ever get my car back from the body shop, I'll see if the markings are different on that one.
