Default This is a wheel problem.

I'm looking for help. Got an A-4 with non-sport. Lookin to put 18" wheels with 225-45-18. Here's the thing.....I've done the math and the tires will end up about 1/2" higher than stock tires. This should help with the wheel gap, and I can live with the speedo being off, but I don't want my car to look like some freakin monster truck. Anyone done this?? Any pictures with 18" and non-sport.
thanks alot.

Default I had 18s on non-sport... couldn't take it for very long and got sport springs put in!

Trust me it looks terrible... like the car is floating...

BTW I have 18 x 8 rims with 235/40 tires...
You don't wanna mess up your speedo... it doesn't look any better if you get rims and then don't lower car, you have to do both !

Before springs:

My current setup on OEM sport springs:

Very bad idea... mod your suspension before wheels

Default if you want to keep the same wheel height.. 235-40-18s are the ones you want..

but like everyone says.. do it right.. get the suspension parts first..

Thanks alot. You're probably right, it will be kind of floaty. I should just do it the right way. Thanks again for the pics... NICE CAR... the sport set-up makes all the difference.

Default Question about current spring setup

You just bought the OEM sport springs, right? Not the shocks too. Just curious how the ride feels. I am probably going to lower my non-sport car but didn't know if I should just get springs or what. Also, how much did just the springs cost you, if you don't mind me asking?

Default Here's what I did....

I went with OEM Sport Springs only. They cost me 200. Then the dealer ripped the hell out of me for a ton of money on the install, and Quattro alignment.

I didn't want to drop the car to the ground and I don't track the car. I only wanted it for the looks... so just springs worked out fine.

I feel it being a little bouncy...but I don't think the sport shocks were necessary.
