Wanted: 2002 spec Multifunction steering wheel...

Does anyone know where I can buy a multifunction steering wheel WITH the Tiptronic buttons? This is a 2002 part.

I have a 2003 A4 Cabriolet CVT a dearly miss not having tip buttons on the steering wheel (Audi stopped offering it to NA customers after 2002).

I've asked my Audi service people about ordering and instaling the part, but they warning it may cost thousands of dollars. Anyone have a cheaper alternative?

They probably say "thousands of dollars" because they're including the airbag in the cost.

I don't think that is necessary... You may want to ask around elsewhere, like Clair Parts and see if they have one and could sell it minus the airbag.

Airbag's important of course...

... but perhapse I can get the OEM Steering wheel cheaper if I don't go through Audi. Audi can then properly install the airbag and wheel.

If you look at the picture, the CVT bottons are on the steering wheel and the airbag is the same. So I think if you want to change the steering wheel, you don't have to change the airbag.
