Default Could this be done?

I understand that for some of you this may not be an issue, but heat in Arizona can to be too much sometimes. I saw an excellent idea as I was pretending to purchase "my new A8" on the AudiUSA site. :P
You can select a solar powered fan system optional, which is attached to the moonroof. If you turn your car off, and if it sitting in the sun, the solar panels will send power to a small fan somewhere in the car to move the air around. I thought that this was quite a good idea. Any ideas if this could be done in the A4 as well?

it's an option in Europe on A4s, so there's got to be a way to do it... be prepared to spend $$$...

I'll check the ETOS and ETKA for the parts and see how much it would cost. Prolly a lot.

Default there's a device for VW's that gives them the ability to roll down windows like we can with our cars

BUT! it also has a temperature sensor and when it gets to a set temp in the car it cracks the windows. once it has "cooled" off a little it puts them back up. I can't remember the name of it but if you are interested I can find out easily. I think it was $80. Might work on our cars too. Same effect as you fan but I bet a hell of a lot cheaper!

Default It's called Alientech and I don't think it would work on our cars.

It's $60 for the basic one then add extra for the temp sensor.

The problem with it though is that for it to be able to lower the windows it needs to unlock the doors for the time being. It is a security issue as I sure as hell don't want my car to be automatically locked/unlocked while I'm away.

Having said all that, I truly don't think it works on our cars.

BTW, the reason I know all this is because there was a time when I almost got a Passat and I researched it heavily :-).
