So if everyone is upset about the power, why did you buy it in the first place? (M)
I mean I agree that the power is less than it should be, but that is not the sole reason I bought my Avant. I was tired of the Japanese craftmanship (Acura Legend GS Coupe w/230hp & 6-speed) and the German car is put together so much better. Yes I know we had a coil pack issue, but it is being fixed and everyone has a problem (look at BMW and their M3 engine problems!) I just getting tired of people bashing the car for the lack of power when they new that it was low when they bought the car. The only way I will drive a WRX or and Evo is to borrow from the Maunfacture and abuse it, I would never pay $$ for either. You see what I sold to get the Avant, so obviously it is not about the power of the car but rather the style and versitility of the vehicle, lets see you get a dining room table and 4 chairs into a WRX wagon, no can do! And an Evo, forget about it.

or drive cars with more power in the same day. I guess it's in our DNA to want more power, but honestly it's funny to read about people racing with stock 1.8T's. I'dd like more power, but I ain't racing anybody. I bought my car for the style and the over balance of ride and performance. If I wanted just power I would have gotten a Mustang or a SRT. Little substance, but lots of power.

Hmm... Well, I wouldn't say it's all about power... and perhaps on that note, you're right. Yet, -m-
I wouldn't say power doesn't mean anything either, even though the car is refined, well-made, and prestigeous... especially when AoA tries to sell their A4 line as an sports sedan line. That's a little misleading and deceptive, if you ask me. So now I'm curious... are you chipped? There are tons and tons of people, who just got sick and fed up with getting "owned" by ricers... enough so that they coughed up some dough to make their A4s a little bit more driveable. That's no laughing matter... IMO. That's a lot of $$$ that could have been spent elsewhere. If you're gonna target sports car enthusiasts... then you better have some palatable numbers to back your claim of being a sports sedan.
Anyway, of course we all test drove our A4s (I'm sure most did). And I'm sure whole lot of us liked it enough to get it (for $30k plus, which would I get... hmmm... wrx/evo or an A4... an A4!). But let's not be a "yes-person" by accepting the flaws of a sports sedan. Especially when it's underpowered and weighs too much.
