Just back from GreedSpeed with NS exhaust and 190 turbo.
The NS (Neuspeed) exhaust has a nice tone but not as deep as I expected. It's not obnoxiously loud. Haven't picked up the drone yet which I was really concerned with as the CVT basically lives between 2K and 3K RPM. I'll have to drive more with the windows down to make more comparisons.
I was running with dual IC's before and a Neuspeed CVT chip. Turned out I was running with the ECU correcting fuel trim by -2 (it was seeing too rich a mixture). The 190 HP turbo is a Jetta/GTI variant with 20-30% higher output from a bigger compressor section but same outlet section. This means I have plenty of room for automatic fuel trim without going with the higher flow injectors (partly because the Jetta/GTI runs a 3 Bar pressure regulator versus the A4's 4 Bar). Plus, I don't have to spend a week or two getting the fuel tables tweaked so I keep the same chip for now. I'll have to monitor the trim to see if I have to go back for an upgrade.
The car is even more responsive from dead stop than before. Once at speed it's a much lighter pressure on the throttle pedal to keep going. Putting the pedal down is a very noticeable increase in acceleration over the chip alone. It maintains strong acceleration past 5K RPM rather than dying out at ~4K-4.5K (before the turbo upgrade). The CHP was working TO and Agoura Hills so I took it easy. I'll know more once I'm in a safe area and can open it up.
Overall I just needed the turbo, gaskets, studs, bolts, an air pump tube and the associated right angle rubber connector plus, of course, the dual IC kit. Well, that and someone with Anthony's expertise to put it all together.

This is what the 1.8T should have been in the first place.

And I was wondering if you could explain this in greater detail?

The quoted paragraph already provides sufficient detail. I'll know more as the engine is monitored over the next several days.
