Default Riddle me this: why does APR flash "need time to adapt", while GIAC and Revo flash do not?

Spoke to GIAC and Revo this weekend at Waterfest, but didn't get a chance to really ask APR... ...Chris seemed distracted with DJing (or tired from all the schmucks...)and the other guy didn't know anything about anything... ...other than "we left the submounts in the office"

Can anyone else explain?

TIA

hmm, both Revo and GIAC said as soon as it's finished loading, you're done.

Default My GIAC chip installed by AWE last year needs time to adapt....more

The only time it needs to adapt is if I swap out the chip. I have to wait about 4 minutes total (2 minutes with the key in the ON position while the computer resets and 2 minutes with the car running.

Any of them, once loaded, will cause the car to start learning new values as the car adapts to increased boost, fueling, etc. As variables change, the ECU is constantly adjusting for optimal performance.

As you switch modes, it replaces this learned data with baseline data, and the adaptation process begins again.

The period of time it takes for the ECU to adapt is typically a couple cold start cycles.

The adaptation process should be complete within a fresh startup and a test-drive.

Give it a month, give it a year it will still be just as weak as it was on day one. The strongest pull I ever had in my car on the Dyno was the very first one after the install.. (GIAC)

Default when jeff moss flashed my car with GIAC

he drove it around to help it adapt. hard runs with the air conditioning on so it learns the values needed. worked really good.

he would know about it more than i would but it seemed to work really well. i dont think it should take weeks to adapt however
