Default 108 degrees and loving it!

Ok folks I got my FMIC from David at Eurocode Tuning yesterday and also the final 04 code for my A4. I live in the San Fernando Valley north of LA and it's get's real hot in the summer. I drove around today and the car was running hard with the ac on and no detectable heatsoaking at all. I'm grinning ear to ear and driving around to see what my car can do and I happend to pull up to a Chevy Silverado truck with new plates and he heard my exhaust so he starts revving his engine. I could be wrong but it sounded like the v8 which has 295hp. I looked over and knew it was going to be on. Once the light changed we took off but he never had a chance with me doing a quattro launch. I pulled on him the whole time and only thing he could do was a stupid ricer flyby but I knew I won so whatever. Anyway later on I was at Lowe's picking up some plastic inserts so I could plug up my license plat holes and I made a right turn to go south on Topanga Canyon Blvd and I see this silver A4 in my rear view mirror. I'm thinking to my self I'm going to have a stock A4 for lunch. Little did I know is was Derrick Mr Villains himself with the E05 kit. The same guy who was at Dave's shop yesterday getting his FMIC installed. I honked and Derrick lowered his windows to say hello. We started chatting and decided to go for it. Basically the only difference between him and my car is he has the E05 kit and I don't. Light turned green and we were about even thru the first gear but then he started to pull away from me. I knew I was going to lose but now I know the E05 kit is for real. Props to David for doing such a good job and I will be getting the E05 kit real soon so stay tuned kids.

Default Derrick told me the story, I met up with him just after...

He ran into... I mean by you. : ) Good meeting you yesterday. The E05 is a good turbo, I'd go with it but I'm going with a big turbo setup, APR stage 3. Good luck with the car.

Default What size is the core?

Just looks a little big for such a small turbo. Too big has too much pressure drop and too much volume will add some delay.

Default Zero "0" Pressure drop note the boost log on the MAHA dyno before and after it's the purple line.

Default Were you testing boost pressure inside the ic tube

before and after the core for both the stock SMIC and FMIC?

The reason I ask is because if you just measuring boost levels after the core inside the manifold then you must know that the ecu just bumps boost pressure up at the turbo to make up for a drop in pressure on the cold side which is where the boost sensor is located.

I was also talking about using a core that is too high in volume which will cause a delay in air flow getting to the intake manifold once the turbo starts to spool. This is the reason why we dont all go running round with cores that are rated at 1000 cfm.

Default I hope u read the title of the post

My car has never ran this well in such extreme heat. I know u don't value seat of the pants impressions too much but hey my car is running great and it's hot as hell around where I live and the car is still pulling with the ac on and the car has some oomph when it never did before. I had the dual Neuspeed intercooler set up on my 02 A4 and that car never ran this well in the heat because that setup was still heaksoaking. I really don't see why we need to get so scientific when dyno runs and seat of the pants impressions are looking good. Have a good day.

Default Here is some real life data not just talk

All the info below is reflected on the dyno sheets we have posted try the link below for your viewing pleasure.

Stock IC
Max HP @ 6250 or 111m/h Max Torque @ 4750 or 84mph
EuroCode FMIC
Max Hp @ 5900 or 103m/h Max Torque @ 4690 or 82mph

As you can see max HP came on about 350rpm quicker and max torque came on about 160rpm quicker as well this is a clear indication that there is no delay in air flow with our FMIC & it is far more efficient than the stock IC. And the vehicle also gained 8HP that's with the ambient temps 10 degrees higher than the before runs and combine that with the fact that this was run number 6 with the FMIC vs. a cool 1st run on the stock IC. I don't know about you but I would say this is pretty damn impressive. These are all facts backed up with dyno info not just claims like some of our competitors who talk and use inflated & manipulated dyno info to post their results. We use the more conservative MAHA dyno that actually heat soaks the car and gives the IC's a run their money unlike the 15sec runs on other dyno machines which are unrealistic.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/653707.phtml</a
