Looking at a 2003 A4 3.0 w/ CVT - few questions...
Was the B6 A4 first introduced as a 2002 model?
How have the CVT transmissions held up? Rock solid, a few reported problems, or avoid this model?

yes the b6 was introduced here in 02. I have a CVT myself and I am one of the few who had issues with it. Was fixed under warranty and no problems since then. If I could do it over again i'd probably get a stick just for the fun factor.

had the TCU replaced....
TCU=Transmission control unit. For some reason the tranny went to "fail safe mode" even though there was nothing wrong with the transmission itself. Neither the dealer nor Germany could figure out why so they decided to replace the TCU. No problems since then.
