Default AggregatVier, any updates about your previous post on the S4 wheel liner?

Thinking of getting the driver and passenger side B5 S4 wheel liners and grafting the vents to my B6 A4.

I was all gung-ho to do it, until I searched and found your thread about the possiblility that venting air too quickly, doesn't allow air to stay around to cool other areas of the engine bay, or time to cool the SMIC.

I'm more inclined to think the increased heat you saw on your front tires is due to the engine bay heat now venting some through the wheel well. That should be an expected result. Anything from monitoring engine temp sensors?

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/592472.phtml</a

Default All other under hood temperatures have remained stable - especially in hot weather.

Installing the vents adds 9-15 degrees F of heat to the front tires. I have to believe that's heat that would have remained trapped, otherwise.

Default perhaps I'll buy another set of B6 and B5 S4 liners

to conduct before and after tests with the VAG-COM. Besides, I can remount the unmodified B6 liner back onto the car for winter use.

I wonder what the effect of the S4 liner vents on the passenger side will be with an intake drawing from the position where the secondary SMIC would reside.

Default True, I've got the DSMIC's so while both cool, the passenger side is more...

...important as that IC sees much more of the intial heat. I also have Smartire so I can monitor the temperatures indirectly. Now that I think of it, I'll leave the car running when I get to work and put my hand in front of the vents to check out the heat.
