Default Update on my serpentine belt that drives the alternator, power steering, AC compressor ect...

I have not been to the dealer's since they started to work on the car because of work but i did call the service manager. He tells me it is a first for them, one of the pulley's centre core shattered or came apart. They ordered a new part. I hope to be able to take picture of it tomorrow. This should be interesting.

Today I met Paul from Carbonio while in Toronto, very nice guy, he told me that they will try to come up with a solution for the dual SMICs, no promise but they will try.

And finally, I'm trying out a modified sig with my mods included below the pic, thank you Mr. Mike Rosen. Feed back appreciated.

TIA

Default You have chosen.... wisely.

I'll be using that in my A4 now (using in my VW). I have 10K miles on the regular 300V 5W-40 and will be going in for my 30K service soon and getting a sample for UOA. I'm confident with the 8100 E-Tech, even with a turbo upgrade. I'll try the 300V Double Ester 5W-40 sometime later though. Do you have that now then, the 5W-40 DE?

No the 0W40 was not available in the new 300V at the time. They told me sometime in the fall.

Default They don't have a 0W-40 in the 300V Double Ester...

lowest is a 0W-20. I think you misunderstood my question. I thought you could only get the 300V 10W-40 Chrono "Double Ester" right now and you were waiting for their 5W-40 version of it - that's what I meant.

Default You are most likely right. For winter use I'm going to the 8100...

It is made as a longer lasting oil, isn't it?

The 300V is really for racing and as a short term life span.

Default Jet, I always enjoy reading your informative posts and...

When I start modding I will be using your advice. You are an asset to the forum! I read where it says your rear rings are blacked out... Do you have a pic?

Default Motul Man is always right... ;)

The 8100 0W-40 is perfect all around, and definitely a good choice for your winter time.

The 300V series, while considered a racing oil, is fine for street app. and can easily last 5K miles. I'll know, or have more proof of that, soon, once I do the UOA of mine. The main difference with this oil is being a full ester oil, but it also has less additive packages, I'm sure. It also doesn't carry the same manufacturer certs/approvals, but only because of costs. When I spoke with Motul USA, they felt that the 300V would still hold up pretty well under those manufacturer tests.

At one of the local Motul dealers here, they are Pantera enthusiasts (shop/racing) and they run the 300V series, leaving it in for much longer then most would and have said there were no issues. They don't dump it after every race.

BTW, you should be getting UOA's of your oil. I get mine from Blackstone Labs.
