Clay bar-Very impressed (longish)
Very impressed indeed with the Clay Bar. Never heard of it before I came to the US - but it was very easy to use, made the paint super smooth (it was a bit rough before that) and removed lots of blemishes from the clear coat. Topped up with Auto Glym Resin and Extra Gloss as i have lots left. Might switch to Klasse later on (found it for $55 for 2 33oz of all in one and extra gloss)
On the same note - also used Armor-All fabric/carpet shampoo on the headliner and carpets - it created lots of froth and I'm not sure whether i got it all out of the headliner - but the resulting cleanliness was superb. I was really impressed and it's cheap too.
Just thought I'd let you know - if you haven't tried Claying i can recommend it. Thanks to those on the board who recommended it to me.
Cheers.
It's a pretty easy process - just don;t try and do too large areas at a time - your lubricant will dry off.
FYI - Be careful up against the black vinyl and other bits - the bar will pick it up and go black so take care around those areas.
Also, for restricted areas - spraying the bar with lubricant works well also so you don;t get spray all over the place.
It works really well on glass - but I did the glass after the paint.
good luck.
After you do your first panel - run your finger over it and then another panel that you have washed but not clayed. you'll immediately notice the difference.
