Audio Install Done!
I had a local shop installed new components in the doors, added a 5-channel amp, and an 8" woofer. Overall I am pleased with the way it turned out, especially the woofer box. I think it is a clean install. The woofer box blends in pretty with the cargo space, and with the hatch closed, it is really hard to tell it is even there. So I don't have to worry about getting ripped off.
Overall, I have a much crisper sound, with some tight bass, and snappish highs. Be warned that an 8" sub is not going to make you thump, but it adds to the overall sound just about right for the way I like it. I would recommend a 10" if you can some how swing (though my guy said that the 10 was too big to fit without sacrificing the cargo space.
I told them I was a little worried that the amp overheating. And as we all know, heat is the enemy of any amp. But my guy was comfortable putting it there, and was not too worried driving the 8". And if something does go wrong, they fully back up their work, and will replace. So I guess I have to take their word for that.
Don't know why pic are so small.
