Default APR Stage 1 v1 Upgrade to Stage 1v2 or Stage 1+v2

Have had Stage 1 v1 in my car a little over 2 years now (02 MTQ). I like the performance gains compared with stock but it just doesn't have enough low end grunt when I track it, like when your coming out of toe of boot at the Glen and accelerate up the hill. I find myself pushing harder and harder on accelerator even though I already have it pinned to the floor. With the recent release of the version 2 software my intial reaction was I might as well go with the Stage 1+ since the ECU needs to be pulled each time I upgrade software. But I have been following the various threads about CELs and bad injectors that have been experienced by the Stage 1+ v2 users and am a little leary of taking the plunge. Is this just a small minority of users with problems out there? So the question is do I wait it out until all the bugs get fixed or do I just go with the Stage 1 v2 now? Is there enough of a low end improvement or will I be disapointed. I am not really concerned about straight line speed I just want to improve powering out of the corners. I plan on sticking with APR and I don't anticipate doing a turbo upgrade in the future. TIA for any info or feedback.

Default Definately go with stg 1+

If your like me, you are probably avoiding the turbo upgrade for monetary reasons. The best bet is to just go with the stage 1+. My 2004 A4 was just chipped, but I decided to spend the extra 500 for the injectors on my 2005. Low end torque in first second and third is amazing. I seem to have no problem keeping up pace with my friends R32. Couple this with an exhaust (thermal) and you have close to 235hp. Go for it!

lots of problems lately with 1+ limp mode, and uncommunicable ECUs. I wouldn't do 1+ good luck

Default Re: Same here TT injectors with no problems

I have about 1k with my Stage 1+ v2. No problems whatsoever. It is a much noticeable improvement over the plain stage 1 v2 software.

I wonder if the problem (minority) people have been having is because they are using APR's injectors? I decided to go the TT injector route. There are two versions of the 1+ software depending on which injectors you have. Maybe the APR injector software has a few bugs comparatively to the TT (bosch) injector program?

Are you referring to DirectPort Programming or soldered APR chip regarding uncommunicable ECU?

Default Did you do injector install yourself?.......

I have never asked but was thinking now that APR has their own injectors they would require their authorized dealers to use them on the upgrade. I'll talk to my dealer and see if they would use the TTs on my car. I haven't heard of any TT problems, seems like that would help decrease the odds of developing a problem.
