hmm...trying to decide A6 4.2 or Allroad
moved to Stamford with occasional trips into NYC area...took wife to JFK in our TT the other day and nearly rattled the teeth out of out heads. The roads around and in the city can be terrible. I was looking at CPO A6 4.2's but now am considering a CPO Allroad. What would people here recommend for practicle daily driving mostly in the Stamford area but also into NYC?

I drive my allroad from New City, NY to Stamford, CT every day...
love every minute of it.
Choice really depends on what you are looking for in a car. allroad is very versatile with plenty of room in the back. Throw on some h-sports and perhaps some chip help and you've got yourself a ride. Stock engine is fun anyways, but if you're looking for 4.2 performance, you've got to add a little something to the 2.7T.

I drove my S4 back and forth from the city to Rye every day for 2 years....
(Rye is ten mins away from you in NY) For the most part it was enjoyable, but i did manage to blow out 3 low profile tires.
My advice would be to watch out for potholes. A friend had a TT for two years and lived very close to you, he had no issues but he didnt drive it hard ;-)

What's the word on the 2.7T engine in the A6/Allroads?
Do they have issues with the turbos like the S4 folks or is that more related to tuning. Seemed to be the earlier year B5 S4s. The A4s only seem to sporatic issues even with tuning. Or maybe its because you have to yank the whole engine that it became a bigger deal.
