Default so my PC at home is cooked

no idea what happpened to it... came home and windows wont even start because some file is corrupt or missing.... who the hell knows. That POS never ran right from go.

I have a buddy who is a computer guy and will take it apart for me and fix it (if possible) but Ill be down at least till next week when he frees up.

So I am thinking now is the time to move on to a laptop. The desktop will be my daughters soon anyway.

I dont do much heavy computing at home, but I want something with decent ***** that wont bog down every 2 minutes either.

What about this one? reccomended upgrades? Thoughts? Thanks<ul><li><a href="http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/entnb_e1705?c=us&amp;cs=19&amp;l=en&amp;s=dhs">htt p://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/entnb_e1705?c=us&amp;cs=19&amp;l=en&amp;s=dhs</a</li></ul>

Default If you're not doing a lot of processor intensive stuff (video editing, gaming...)

pretty much any laptop should run a lot faster without "bogging down every 2 minutes". Of course the first step would be to get the computer, and reformat the drive and load the operating system and drivers without all the other crap dell loads onto their machines.

Default agreed, I did some checking and it looks like HP

has some better pricing for similar set up's..i.e. 300-400 less.

I may look that way since my last dell purchase left a bad taste in my mouth. Thanks

I don't think too highly of either company. Check out Gateways.

Default If you're only using it for basic operations,

then, IMO, u dont need that much of a computer. Just a duo core and around 1 gig of ram with 80 gig of HD. You're good to go.

Oh, btw, i was looking at the gaming Guru part.
