Given some of the things he has done in the past I am surprised he lasted this long...
My kids think he is funny, I find it a little disturbing.
Sticking my head in a croc's mouth doesn't do it for me, I would rather drive fast and live longer.
I feel bad for his wife and kid, maybe the kid is safer now though.

I guess you could say that, but his lifestyle choice secured a financial future
for his family. Not like some bums out there who are alive and useless.
They lost their dad and that sucks, but this is who their dad was and what he was called to do.
Are race car drivers intensely reckless and shouldnt have kids? Stunt men?
I always found him somewhat nutty, but he was a professional, and doing this kind of work his whole life.

*shrug* - some people would say the same thing for anyone that rides a motorcycle. or astronauts.
or members of the military (iraq anyone?). Steve Irwin was an educated man who understood the dangers and got unlucky. It was NOT luck that got him through decades of working with dangerous animals. To you, the layperson, it looks more dangerous that it really is and our opinions on the matter are not founded in any fact.

I guess I'm not as much a risk taker.. I'm single and would never consider getting a motorcycle...
That one mishap can cripple you for life.. as opposed to making a mistake in a car, you have a higher probability of walking away..
