Both sad and happy day...

My lease is up and the S4 is going bye bye. I have never in my life been so upset to loose a car. All is not bad though. I just purchased a 2004 Allroad 6spd. I agonized over this for a LONG time. Should I hold out hope that an S4 Avant 6spd would appear or just get the AR? Allroad 6spd's don't grow on trees and I needed to make the move or risk losing the AR. So with a little bit of apprehension, I bought the car. The APR chip will be transfered and hopefully I will not have too much S4 envy. But I will definitely miss the S.
As long as I am talking Allroad...can help me out with the good ole' 402 mod?

IMO do the 402 after you install h-sports

w/o the h-sports the suspension feels like it bottoms out too much witht eh stk sway bars. Coming from the S4, you find that the h-sports are really necessity.

Come join us on the allroad forum.

Do not solder in your chip, The ECU is not only coded differently but the chip itself is physically different. I believe the actual eprom fo the allroad is 70 Pins and not swapable with other 2.7T S4's.

I've been down this path three years ago, when I had to remove the chip.

Allroad 6-speeds are not as rare as you think, I test drove several before buying a car...

I ended up getting an X5... oh well... The used allroads I testdrove were not up to my specs.. The other ones I called about were 50+ miles away and I was too goddamn lazy to check them out... They were also a few grand more than I wanted to spend.. I dont regret my choice, but the Allroad drove nicely..
