Operation Jeep Recon was a success.....sort of.
Friday morning I go pick up the car. YAY!!....NOT! I talk to the mechanic who says everything's great, running fine, he put about 150 miles on it, no leaks, no noises....awesome, I'm psyched! So I leave there and take a ride up to the mountain to check on conditions up there and then head home and park the Jeep in my parent's garage so I can pack it up and leave. I drove a total of about 5 miles. About an hour later I pull it out of the garage to leave and of course there's two puddles under the car....one puddle of antifreeze, and one puddle of power steering fluid. So in a rage I drive back to the mechanic and basically say WTF DUDE?!!!!!! He says, leave it here for an hour, we'll check it out. So I go have lunch with pops and go back in about an hour and a half. He says "oh we found it...we needed to replace your lower radiator hose" and hands me ANOTHER bill for $85!!!!!! I just paid this ******** $1700 ****ing dollars not 2 HOURS before that for a new cylinder head, new radiator, new gaskets and every nut and bolt in between....you would think he would replace the hose for free!!!
But it's home now and doesn't seem to be leaking any more antifreeze but still loses some drops of power steering fluid. So after all that bull**** now I'm gonna leave it at my good mechanic down here and have him give a "once over" to double check the VT mechanic's work because I just don't trust it.

Yeah...great weekend.

My friend dropped $<b>5G</b>'s to have his tip tranny comletely bulletproofed, and a few other small odds/ends. About two months later he got stranded with the car. Turns out the shop re-used the old hoses to the tranny cooler and they busted.
