Was a away from Thurs to Sun and got home last night to an empty fridge. We ordered in sushi from Fuji in Stamford. The delivery kid, driving a beater Pathfinder with a cheesy "racing" seat, flys into my driveway and sidewiped my pass side front fender.

The kid was flipping out, but he didn't speak any english so I have no idea what he was saying. He then tried to get in his car drive away so I grabbed his door and told him to turn off his car.

My wife called the police. The officer took a statement from me and my papers, but the kid didn't speak enough english and didn't have his papers in his car. Eventually another kid showed up and gave the officer some papers (registration?).

It looks like there isn't any significant body damage... just scapes on the fender and rim. I'll have to wash the car to see whats really there.

Now, here's the best part... the kid rings my bell (and sets the dog off barking like crazy which then wakes up my son who starts screaming) and tells me that I have to pay for the food I ordered (which I had given my wife since she was starving). WTF! I called the resterant (Fuji in Stamford!)and the lady starts yelling at me that the kid's car was damaged too and that I shouldn't be so selfish, blah blah blah. I was besides myself and then just hung up on her in the middle of her rant. Not even worth the energy at this point.

So, again, stay away from Fuji in Stamford.

Also, recommendation on paint/body shop???

 

Sheesh, you would think at the very least, the food would be free, w/ an apology and offer to pay for the damages...

 

I would have shoved a spicy tuna roll up his a$$ when he wanted the money...

 

if you have the insurance info of the owners car, you can file a claim against them.

Or, get your car fixed, and file a smail claims court suit against the restaurant.

 

For just $40 they could have kept a customer . Just plain dumb.

The first question the officer asked was "Did you tip the driver?" (LOL)

 

doesn't sound like a lot of damages, but something that can easily cost several hundred dollars out of pocket the insurance deductible won't pay and the inconvenience and time wasted of chasing these people down...

 

that way their rates stay low.

that's why he should go directly to the o.p. insurance carrier.

 

assuming the kid was insured, just call his insurance company and start the claim. Your car was parked, he is 100% at fault.

 

He ordered the sushi.... 50/50 fault? LOL
