maybe just me, but I find it that she's using her kids to make money and get fame.

What a Mess

Single, unemployed, and FOURTEEN KIDS.

There's some sound thinking. And the payoff, we (taxpayers) can all pay for each and everything each one of them is going to do every day for their entire lives.

I don't know why someone would want 14 kids. Some do

But I feel like that would be such a hassle

Agreed, she'll have enough trouble raising all those kids with out the camera crews

I think she's selfish and ignorant...

With 14 kids, she ain't gettin rich until she starts breakin child labor laws. Still makes me sick. She claims to have a disability from her last job, for which she has collected ~$160K. And now no income, going back to school, and raising 6 kids, she decides to do this?!? She's fooling herself into thinking this could possibly be good for any of the children, and she knows damn well these kids are on a government bankroll. I heard the deliveries and associated care was $1.5MM. That's just insane, and the kids haven't even left the hospital yet. Unemployed mom of 6, going to school, gives birth to 8 babies. *sigh* I don't mind the programs out there that help people in need, but it pisses me off when people like this completely take advantage of the situation.

And don't get me started about the doctor that did this. I hope some nosey reporter digs up the information and makes it public. They might not be able to strip him/her of his right to practice, but the ethical questions around this might be enough to discredit him/her.

Furthermore, think of the costs down the road

For example, lets take college tuition (assuming they all go to a private university): 8+6=14 (kids). 14 kids x $30k (av. tuition cost) = $420,000/year x 4 years = $1,680,000

I guess my point being, due to 14 kids and the state that she's in right now, those kids are probably not going to get a fair opportunity at growing up.
