BT: Reckless driving ticket in VA (Fairfax Co.)
Anyhow, mandatory court date mid-November...reckless driving...blah blah. She has a decent record: a ticket for some sort of moving violation from 3 years ago. Sucky thing is her 25th b-day is in Dec. and her rates are/were due to drop significantly.
Soooo, what can 'The Experienced' offer my poor, innocent, angel of a little sister?
(First person to say 'teh caulk' gets a peckerslap and/or purple nurple)
84 in a 55 will likely just be a reckless with a $100 fine, no suspension of license. Even if the speed limit was 65, the judge will ask why she was going 84. 80MPH is automatic reckless in VA, no matter what the speed limit is. If she has a VA license, the reckless will be on her driving record for 11 years and is a -6 point violation. If Maryland license, I'm not sure how it transfers over.
The lawyer I use can be found at www.boselawfirm.com. He's not cheap, but he's real good.
Rob has a lawyer too.
She really should have an attorney (cost around $1,800.) She is facing a possible jail sentence and loss of license. My wife used Albo and Oblon and got the ticket plead down to 74 in a 55 with a big fine (maybe $250 or $300). But, it was not reckless.
If you don't believe me about the attorney, there was a guy who plead guilty with an explanation to 81 in a 55 zone when I was in court, he did not have an attorney, and lost his license for 60 days, and got one day in jail. They handcuffed the guy right at the witness stand and took the guy to right to jail. (I don't know what his previous record was).
