I may as well pay for lifetime AudiClub membership. Another great event--- Summit Point Shenandoah
Many thanks to Ed Furman (Induktion) for the instruction, and the ride in the M3. It took me about 12 hours for my stomach and head to recover, but I'm a better man for it.
Audi Club is a perfect demographic. I was talking to an instructor who has a track-prepped Mercedes 190 2.3-16V and he has tried events with BMWCCA, MBCA, PCA and Audi Club. He confirmed to me that the mindset of the Audi Club is a perfect mix of fun, safety and technical competence. The non-Audi drivers that are drawn to the events seem to have the same mindset. Without naming names, some of the other clubs are stocked with egomaniacs, thrillseekers who can't change a tire, and wine-and-cheese snarfers (thats MBCA). Obviously, this is a generalization, but with validity.
We've got a good thing going.
I'm curious to see how the jump pix look since I was getting wheelspin by the last session. My car always looks like it's jumping (tall front springs), so at least this will make it look better).
I was in the Yellow Group in the C32 (Silver).
This seemed like the *MOST-CHALLENGED* Audi Club event from my experience, but only because of instructor shortage from what I saw. Taking that into account, the organizers did a phenomenal job.
I think I used more trail-braking and lift-oversteer during this event than all other events combined! Great technical course. Def need to go back. I do wish I had taken that instructor clinic, though. Extra 3 hrs of track time! :/
