ok WTF?!?! at 35K mi, this is the SECOND time my left brake light goes out.
Since when do brake lights go out after 15k mi?? There's gotta be something wrong w/ the wires. WHen the right one went out about 8k miles ago, it was out for a week, then magically came back on for a week before it died for good. I repeat - WTF?
I mean, it's not a big thing, but damn, i'm tired of wasting time on this kind of crap. Besides regular maitenance, I've had the following go wrong so far (which btw is stock save for a short shifter):
Blown AC compressor
punctured AC condensor
Left brake light (2X)
Right brake light
Power Steering pump gone bad
on an 03' w/ only 35k miles, this is just annoying. Those fockers must've been drinking the day they were putting mine together.

...but hey, at least it gives you practice in R/R those tricky B6 taillights.
Take it from me - my recent brakelight replacement has been called "the $45 brake light." It was like a National Lampoon movie. (Or, if someone filmed me and played it in 2x speed, and played the Benny Hill music in the background.)

well, its still under warranty so i've had the dealer take care of it, to avoid just that
but seeing as they go out every 15 -20k, i may be joining you in that little circus. and that's not something i want to be dealing with.
so this is normal lifespan on these lights???

What does yours do? Mine...
...overcompensates when "un-dipping" the mirrors after going into Reverse.
ie: I back up, it dips the mirror. I go forward again, and the mirror moves higher than it was before going into Reverse. Very annoying.

oh yea, mine's been kinda like that. First ,it doesn't always dip on Reverse, but
when i came back from vacation, it was pointing allllll the way up. corrected it, set the memory again to have the new placement, and now it just decides that it will go down on reverse only every once in a while. I switch the mirror control back and forth, take it in and out of reverse. Nothing. Then it'll work again. then stop. arrgg.
