Do I have an '05?
This sounds REALLY stupid...but I'm starting to wonder if my '04 is really an '05 due to the fact that it came with Dunlops instead of Continentals.
The shark fin looks the same as all of yours. Do the 05's have a different one for certain? Is there another good way to tell?

Well, my dealer thinks it's an '04 so that's what's on the paperwork...
...but he also thought my car had Continentals before I called and told him otherwise. He says this is the only S4 he's heard of with the Dunlops.

I wouldn't think it's a scam...
If Audi is like most manufacturers, they don't specify specific rubber. This way it makes it easier to switch if there is a supply problem, etc. It could be that they switched tire manufacturers before the end of the model year.
I haven't heard much about the Dunlops, but from what I've read here, plenty of people don't like the stock Conti's. Maybe he's coming out ahead in the deal...

05 Sharkfin is fatter and not as high. I think 05 looks like a whale or a Trident missle sub
If you have the same fin as everybody else, then you probably have a 04
