Default I want my car

I find myself getting very frustrated as the time to delivery grows shorter. First I am told the car was on the ship that docked in San Diego June 10th. Almost 2 weeks later I find out it wasn't on that ship but on one due June 21st. But that ship doesn't make it to SD until June 25th. Saturday I am told it left SD for the Pacific Northwest on July 2nd. Well it is now the 7th and no truck in sight. My wife is convinced we will never take delivery and that the dealer actually let it go to someone else. I am waiting to hear that it fell of the truck and is at the bottom of the Columbia River.

Trying to be patient but it is difficult.

Default We all go through this just before the car arrives. . .

You will feel like you are going to DIE if you don't get it soon, and you will feel like the salesman is bull****ting you about when it will arrive, but noone really has any control over it.

It will get there when it gets there, and it will be well worth the painful wait!

I know I am not in a unique position and many others have gone through this also. It was just I am off this week and wanted to be able to drive it before I am back at work and traveling all over the country (by air). If it isn't ready for me pick up by tomorrow afternoon I may not be able to pick it up before sometime in August.

Default that really sucks! your next bet is to try and escalate to someone that can do something. . .

it seems like dealerships have little power over this process. . .

Default I sold my B5 a month before my B6 arrived. . .

and had to rent a car (Dodge Neon). Going from a B5 S4 to a Neon was tough, but it really felt GREAT when I finally got my B6!

I realize the dealership has little they can do in this situation and are just as anxious to deliver the car (and get paid). I must say I am unimpressed with the Audi material tracking system. Obviously the truck never left SD last Friday as it just doesn't take this many days to go 1000 miles (even with the holiday). Looks like it isn't going to be showing up today either. It wouldn't be so bad normally but we had someone leave the company and I have had to cover the southwest as well as the northwest the past month and it seems to be taking some time to hire a replacement.

Default I had a hard time getting my car delivered from San Diego.

I'm in San Jose (dealer is in Burlingame) and it took a surprisingly long time for the truck to arrive from San Diego. There were two instances of being told it was on the truck and then finding out days later that it's not on the truck. And even once it was on the truck, it took longer than it should have (like 3-4 days to drive 9 hours). Then the truck got "lost" in Bakersfield. No one could find out where the truck was for a few hours.

If the car is due in on the weekend, see if you can get the dealer to have a person come in to prep it right away. The dealership I went through typically doesn't do the prep work on the weekend, but he arranged to have someone there if it did come in so I wouldn't have to wait the extra two days. If you're experiencing lots of delays the dealer should be willing to do that for you.

My car ended up arriving late in the evening and my dealer had to get it out of their off-site location that night to make sure it got prepped in time the next morning so I could pick it up and immediately drive down to LA for the Christmas holiday. Talk about getting the car at the last possible moment. I had already sold my B5 S4 and our other car was too small to bring down the family gifts we had purchased.

Good Luck. Hopefully it will arrive soon.

P.S. I was told the trucking company name is "Swift". :-)

Default The wait is intolerable, but it will EVENTUALLY be here

The anticipation is Hell. It will be worth the wait. BTW that is the reason that I no longer order vehicles. I have NO patience!
