AvarmD, question about the DBW!
1. Are the "throttle" irregularities compared to the "accelerator" position because of "optimized" fuel consumption. In other words are we, as drivers, experiencing the idiosyncracies of the throttle because we are used to the more traditional throttles that do not take fuel delivery, RPM, etc into consideration?
2. Can we learn to live with the current DBW? I think so.
I just don't (or can't) believe that what we are experiencing is necessarily all bad. I tend to believe there are positivie benefits that just aren't tangible for us and therefore we get flustered by the behavior.
I mean look at golf (if you play). You can go out and someone can say "Hey turn your right hand 1/16 turn clockwise around your grip and you notice that you get rid of your slice..." The first several times you try that new grip it feels very awkward, but your slice is gone.
Could this just be the same? Our motor skills are so used to the "traditional" throttle that we feel a little awkward with a new method!
Please don't get me wrong here. I'm an engineer by degree and therefor a problem solver. I feel your pain. However, to solve problems you first must fully understand the boundaries and I'm not sure we do, at least I don't.
