Need Opinion BADLY
Wassup everyone,
I am in the market for a new car and I am trying to decide between the Audi S4 and BMW M3. I really like the fact that the S4 has a V8 so that is why, if I had to buy a car now, i would choose the S4. However, I have been doing research through Intellichoice and their rating of the car (from a financial perspective) is Poor. Now, obviously I am going to expect biased feedback from this board, but I was wondering what everyone REALLY thinks of the 2004 S4. What have your experiences been? Has anyone incurred a lot of costs? Can you tell me anything else to watch out for?

The New S4's are Golden. No known issues.
The B6 is the best Audi I've ever driven. I love my car.
I have an early VIN, and they were known to have some issues. For one, my engine was replaced. But it was all paid for and done under warranty, and they had the new engine in and handed me the keys under one week from dropping it off. that's amazing service.
But if your thinking about buying a new car, please be comfortable with the fact that the new model tweaks have been taken care of. I'm sure you'll be happy with either car, but I know for sure that the S4 is kickass!

Horrible investment. Great car.
All cars are horrible investments, but not all horrible investments are great cars. My happiness is worth a lot of money, and the bottom line is that this car makes me happy, even though I might lose a little money vs the M3.

If you enjoy fine automobiles and you like driving...
you'll love the S4.
Much more enjoyable day-to-day than the M3 IMHO. If you're in the market for a car at this price point you won't be disappointed while owning it. It will only cost a little more than the M3 to own (gas). You might lose more when selling it but it probably won't be a lot different.
