has there been a proven winner for performance/looks/sound when it comes to the aftermarket exhaust system. And when I see a S4 cat back system on audi's page for an older system, was some one making that for them..



Did anyone ever add the mp3 system phat music that audi offered...Just curious

Got it installed a week ago, and I still can't wipe the silly grin off my face every time I start the beast! In a nutshell, Thermal Street is what stock exhaust should have been like, and it's definitely a looker!

No alignment problems during the install - all the hangers lined up perfectly and tips are centered, although the left one seems to be handing a bit lower than the right one. Getting the tips aligned took the most time - extra pair of hands definitely helps! The tips are flush with the top of the bumper cutout when cold, and stick out about 1" when hot.

It is louder than stock, but not too much. At idle and below 4K RPM there's awesome V8 growl - very deep and throaty. Above 4K it sounds similar to stock, but louder. It isn't raspy up high, and, unless it's at WOT, above 4K engine noise and gear whine still drown the exhaust. When cruising, the cabin noise level stays pretty much at stock level, but I definitely hear it when I step on the gas. It sounds just as I wanted it to - civilized, but lets it be known there's something-something under the hood!

I do wonder what the race system would sound like...

Sorry about the crappy picture quality... All pictures were taken before final adjustments, and I will still need to tweak it some after it settles to get the tips perfectly centered.

Drive it around and get her hot, then let her cool down. Be sure to re-tighten the nuts and bolts.
