Street drag tonight with a Ford Mustang with some mods....a bit long
Ok, it's probably not the most awesome car for us to smoke, but I never did get out of third gear and had him beat in the first 200 yards out of the gate. The guy was really nice, we were on The Great Highway in San Francisco - his car was really clean, sounded really bitchin too - all tinted, custom rims, tires, suspension -he had followed me for a while, pulled up next to me, gushed about the Audi and then a little further down he asked if I wanted to run - I said sure. Next light, stopped, we had our windows down - he told me to say go (his first mistake perhaps) and boom - I was gone. Then we drove side by side for another mile or so, swapping **** about each other's rigs. All in all, good fun. Ended up, he only displaced about 280 hp with 340lb torque - but runs lighter. So it's not that big a deal, but it was sure impressive to see how easy I pulled away - maybe next time I should handicapp the S4 and give the Stang a head start!

Nice. My bud has a gt that I've been f-cking around in the past few days
He feels I'm a good driver and wants me to teach him how to launch, drive well, etc...so he lets me abuse his stang. 
I don't do anything bad, but jsut rev the hell out of it with it's the Bullet exhaust he has (it's a gt bullet, don't know the specs), but goddamn that shifter needs to be shortened by Steeda FAST!
F-cking loud and fun to drive (in a straight line)! American rumble is awesome. Can't wait to compare my miltek manifold back to it. Oh, and he might come to the thunderhill event in August.

Nice. One thing about stangs is you never know what you are going to run.
In TX, I swear they give out exhaust when you buy the car. There are so many modified ones it's crazy. Good kill though. Sounds like you met a cool stang owner and he met a cool audi owner. That's the way it's supposed to be. Good job.

For just a minute I thought....what am I doing...?
Forgot to add that he had a hood scoop, very subtle, which turns out was only cosmetic, plus the car just looked totally stealth, which I've learned from looking at other guys cars, that sometimes it's not all the flash - it's what you can't see! So when we did roll up, I was thinking - "man I'm going to get toasted, especially when I heard him rev.." He actually complemented the Audi on the motor noise as well - said it just purrrreedd! It wasn't a GT or Cobra, but it was new, and like I said - looked fast. Oh and his license plate read "SMOKD YA." And it's fun to go with someone that just appreciates nice cars and good conversation, how it should be.

The sweet thing is that...
On the street, if you're on your game, you will always destroy a Mustang out of the hole. The more hp he's got the better for you (at least for the first 1/8th mile). Those cars are SEVERELY traction handicapped on the street. Huge front end bias + big hp = major tire spin. I can get 1.85 60ft times at the track. A Mustang needs street slicks and a good driver to pull those kind of numbers. But if he's got major hp he'll reel you in. All the more reason to drill him off the line.
