Default Just traded in B5 S4 for B6 S4...

So I picked up my new 2004 Nogaro S4 yesterday & I must say Audi did an excellent job on the car. So far, my favorite thing about this car is the seats! Thank you Recaro for a job well done. I haven't really opened up engine yet due to break in, but the V8 is nice. However, I only wish I could've transfered my B5's twin-turbo V6 in this car after reading about the many V8 failures and of course the fact that my B5 (chip & exhaust) dynoed at over 360 hp & 420 lbs of torque at the crank. I immediately noticed the throw back in your seat feel of my B5 is not in the B6. Either way, I'll wait for a supercharger if the numbers are good. Everything else in this car is top notch like my modded B5 (suspension, brakes). I will be adding coilovers to this car to control that extra weight and try to duplicate the "tossable" feel of my B5. My only problem with the car is the light feeling clutch. My B5's clutch felt just right and it looks like Audi used a a too user friendly application in this model. When I first drove the car, I thought perhaps there was an A4 clutch installed instead. If anyone has done a clutch upgrade, please let me know what options are available thus far. I also would like to know if it is possible to paint my aluminum mirrors nogaro. If anyone has done this, please let me know how it has turned out. Otherwise, I'll buy some A4 mirrors and have them painted. All in all, I am a satisfied customer and look forward to driving this car for the next few years.

Default Give it time...

It'll throw you back in the seat when you really open it up. Once you put the full exhaust on, it'll probably feel somewhat comparable to your B5 (though you won't be making 420ft/lbs of torque).

Default The S4 mirrors are worth way too much to paint over, I suggest trading them with an A4 plus some...

cash or just buy A4 ones new.

Default I had Stage 2+ B5...

You don't get the thrown back in your seat feel, but what you get instead is darn sneaky acceleration. I found that when I first got the B6 I was always going faster than I thought, because I didn't feel the acceleration rush, so I figured I wasn't accelerating hard. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

I find the shifter and clutch much better on the B6. I'd track the car on stock suspension before messing with the stockers.

Oh yeah, run, don't walk, and get a catback exhaust. The stocker is crimp-master. Makes a much bigger difference than exhaust alone did on the B5.

Default I agree...give it time. I had a Stage 2 B5...

The torque isn't there, but everything else is.

the suspension, the brakes, the steering, the seats, and if Avant, the looks! ;-)

If your thinking s/c, might as well go Milltek Full. This will give you about a 380/340 HP/Tor rating. I have it, and the car pulls like a freakin' Concord at take-off.

The clutch is lighter, but you will learn to accept it. The take up is really easy. Not as much of a grab and jerk clutch as the B5, although many would argue against me, they just can't drive stick! ;-p

Glad your enjoying it, and you just wait. It gets better with mileage. 3k miles seems to be the hot-spot.

Default Question regarding "This will give you about a 380/340 HP/Tor rating"

have you dyno'd your car? A catback exhaust will give you 40hp and 30 lb feet of torque?
