Grettings fellow s4 owners. I've been readings the posts on this forum for the last few weeks and after debating between the m3 and s4 I sided with the Audi. I recently picked up a black/black 04 s4 tip from Long Beach, Ca.

I'm set on a few performance and aethetic mods, ie intake and milltek resonated cat back as well as euro headlights. I noticed a few of you allready have this on.

I'd appreciate comments on the amplified sound, power and any other general driving impressions.

Keep up the informative posts.

Default Welcome Jason! Nice to see you made the correct choice when it comes to color. ;-)

You'll be very happy with your car, I'm sure.

As far as your indicated mods, they look great! Milltek resonated exhaust should be a requisite. It's awesome. Really gives that extra boom and growl at the low-end that the car needs. No resonance or droning inside the cabin whatsoever. And the extra flow gives you a bump in performance as well.

As far as the intake, I personally have not installed mine yet. It arrives on Wed. ;-) But from what I've heard on the board, it sounds awesome. And I can only imagine that if you flow up the rear, opening up the flow in front of the engine is only going to bump the power up even more. And more power = bigger smiles. :-D

And the euro's will give you a very clean look, especially with the black. You'll lose the chrome that's on the stockers for a matte black/gray. Should look sweet.

of course, we'll need to hear your opinions on everyhing once you have them installed! Congrats and enjoy.

Thanks for the quick response MächtigAvant. Final question regarding the euro headlights. I've seen that they're available from three different sources.

- achtuning
- vagparts
- lltek

I believe there are two types the euro and the bi-xenon. I noticed that there is a significant price difference when going with the bi-xenon. Can any users justify the extra expense with the bi-xenon.

thanks in advance.

Default Bi-xenons (Xenon+) are a little bit more complicated than the Euro's.

Both use the existing lighting hardware, the only difference is in the housing.

The Euro's will get rid of the orange side marker and will provide a bit more brightness.

The Xenon+ are a little larger, hence a tighter fit. But the design is much different then the Euro's. Looking at them, they look the same. There's no orange side marker. But there is more going on inside.

The Xenon+ use the xenon bulb for the low AND high beam. Stock, and with Euro's, our cars use xenon bulbs for low-beams, and high intensity Halogen bulbs for the high beam. The Xenon+ will use a switch that will take advantage of the xenon bulb (instead of the halogen bulb).

IMO, the Euro's do the job. The Xenon+ are cool to have, but not worth the extra expense unless you can get a GREAT price on them, or just feel like spending the extra dough. They are cool though!

One more thing, there have been some issues concerning the auto-leveling of the xenon+. They can be leveled via hand, but the computer has a hard time learning the settings.
