Default Those of you with window tinting experience:

I have recently come to the conclusion that a black on black car gets pretty warm inside on a sunny day and I am considering, for the first time in my life, window tint. I know that it looks better too, but this would mainly be to keep the cabin cooler when parked.

Would you guys suggest a lighter tint all 'round (which the authorities do not recommend), a darker tint on the rear windows only, or some other combo? I think a uniform, lighter tint would look best (and prob not cause too much of a stir with the police), but would it effectively cool the cabin?

Default i prefer the same tint all over. even a lighter tint is going to help. dojo had a thread on it on

Friday I believe.

i think a lot comes down to personal preference.

I prefer the same tint all the way around. I went with 28% and I love it.

I always do 28% all around. Darker in the rear is too hard to see out of at night.

Default I did 20%. I can't comment on cooling issue but at times I regret going so dark and I have even...

considered having tint removed or retinting to 35%. The reason being that I can't see out my windows at night! It's a little dangerous to say the least but it just looks so damn good. :-)

Default Funny you bring it up...

I just had my first "run in" with our friends (what does the ticket mean when it says 70+ anyway?).....I bought my Black on Black S4 in Texas used and knew the windows were dark but now know they are 24% all around...I now need to remove and replace to 50% which is the law here within 30 days or I get another ticket for $130.00.....thinkin it'll cost more from a cost and hassle point to fix it then to get a few tickets??...guess it depends on what a few means...

Default I like same tint all around too. It's illegal in my state and I have 35% all around

Haven't had a problem, but if I do it will probably be a secondary ticket to a bigger offense. I'll get hit for no front plate at the same time.

Tint definately helps keep your car cooler in the summer.
