updates......
#1 the door ding fron a parking lot over the weekend eas removed by dent tech. he did very good work cant c a thing(although it was small)

#2 mirror scratch issues
if their deep like mine were i tried to polish them out it didnt work cause it goes through the plsting (not sure if its chrome plating or nickel plating cant c scratches but you can c the plate is gone).
option #1 is to buy a new housing but dealers are stating that i cant buy just the housing but i have to buy it with the mechanice inside) ouch $677. plus tax plus labor like $900 total
BASTARDS IN PARKING LOTS take the 9 plus the 1 for door ding sone of a biches......
option #2 is to replate it myself. have audi disassemble it and send it for plating but not sure what plating they used....aoa doesnt know and on hold with germany right now.. but thats not getting anywhere either.....

Let us know when you find out what kind of plating they use. . .
If it is a coating over aluminum, couldn't you just completely remove the coating and polish the aluminum? Or is it a plating over plastic or something to make it look like aluminum?

hate to give out the wrong info....
id like to find out cause if mine scratched that easy from some1 in a parking lot or car wash ...
we cant just keep replacing these things at the cost ......
and i dont want to have to buy the whole assy.. anyways im workin on it....

Re: last ive heard its an alum plating....but im gonna call when more knowledgible
people are there not the night crew and since im in los angeles ive got to call tonight at 1am anyways if any1 needs the number to the factory ive got it................
