Just purchased an '05 S4 Avant 6MT
Thanks to everyone on this board for all your thoughts and insights. I happened to luck into finding this car on my dealer's website. And despite the fact they had four more 2004s on the lot, I was able to pick it up for $1,000 under MSRP. I will have it in my hot little hands in one LONG week (I know, I know - but my schedule won't get me back there prior to that.)
Anyway - I just wanted to thank you all again for the time you take to answer newbie questions and post comments about your rides. It's boards like this that make our cars so much fun when we can't be driving.

Thanks - I can assure you I will. I was actually surprised how incredibly agile it felt - even compared to my outgoing vehicle, a Honda S2000. I'm QUITE stoked.
By the way MachtigAvant - You're one of those guys with incredibly useful posts. You definitely helped (inadvertently) twist my arm into this purchase.

I couldn't believe it - I just happened to check my local dealer's stock on the internet yesterday and there it was. By the way - I'm in PDX too. Sunset Imports was the dealer. And you were also one of the good posters that sucked me into this too.
