Default I've added the Intake manifold TSB to the collection.

Affects vehicles built prior to the VINS below:

2004 S4 VIN: 8E_4A265000
2004 S4 Cab VIN: 8H_4K901066
2004 Allroad VIN: 4B_4N094000
2004 A6 VIN: 4B_4N095718
2004 A8L VIN: 4E_4N024000

Check my sig for the TSB.

Default Many thanks for posting the TSB's

I will need the intake manifold work done at my 15K service...hopefully not sooner.

On the XM install, its no wonder I couldn't do it myself and that dealers are whacking people for $200.

Default not wes, but here is a quick overview. . .

Basically, if your VIN# is prior to the VIN's specified below, then you need to get your manifold gaskets replaced and the bolts torqued. At least that is what I got from the TSB. There is also mention of the yellow dot indicating that you don't need anything done, but if your VIN is prior to the one below, more than likely you won't have a yellow dot.

2004 S4 VIN: 8E_4A265000
2004 S4 Cab VIN: 8H_4K901066
2004 Allroad VIN: 4B_4N094000
2004 A6 VIN: 4B_4N095718
2004 A8L VIN: 4E_4N024000

I can e-mail you the TSB pdf if you want it.

Default Thanks - have a couple of questions...

Being new to Audi, I really appreciate the knowledge. First of all, my car is affected because car I bought 2 weeks ago sat on the lot for a while - found out my car was built 12/03. I will check the torque of the bolts tonight when I get home since I won't be ablet to get to the dealer for a week and a half.

Next question - with my car being built 12/03 and still being on the lot in June, is there a chance the car could have a new engine in it? The odometer only had 52 miles on it. Any chance this could be a buyback? Thanks again!

Default I doubt it. If the odometer had 52 miles on it, then I'm sure it has the original engine in it.

The reason why I say this is because when they replace the engine they do NOT reset the odometer. So, unless an engine went out in the first 50 miles, which I doubt believe it has, then it's the same engine.

Besides, I'm fairly confident that the Dec builds had the fixes and the engines are strong.

I'm sure the engine does fit the TSB for torquing the bolts, but I don't think it's going to be a problem for you. You can wait the week and a half. I had 18,000 miles on my car and no issues, they were just a little loose. You can finger tighten them if you like, or take a torx bolt to it and tighten by hand until the TSB.

Enjoy it!
