oil change time again...
Did Mobil 1 0w-30 at 2k, had the dealer do M1 5w-30 a month ago at 5200 mi (my oil) and now have 7400 miles. Am looking to change out by 8k. 3k is my max on any oil. Looked in the book last night to refresh my memory on oil weights and was somewhat surprised to see Audi only recommends 0w-30; that's year-round. The book said you could use a 5w-30/40 if 0w-30 "wasn't available". Trying to remember why I even bought 5w last time to bring to the dealer. Is there another place in the manual that specific***y deals with oil besides p.279 area? Is most everyone running 0w-30 year round like the book says or am I missing something?

I think it's overkill to change 9qts of Synthetic oil every 3K miles.
5K if you really are **** about the oil. IMHO 13qts(you can only change 9.5 qts) of Mobil or equivilent will last 10k with no breakdown!
