Default Custom exhaust installed ( A little long)

Well, today I just did it. Had Exhaust Systems Hawaii put on a custom 2 1/2" system with Borla Mufflers and 90mm tips. Couldn't be happier. Sounds great, pulls harder, and for only $725. I looked into all the options, but for me, custom was the way to go. I was leaning Miltek, but $1200 + shipping + install was adding up to about $1600. Everything to Hawaii has to come 2nd day air, so that was a couple hundred right there.

They did a great install. Very clean and straight, no big bends or crimps in the pipes. No res and Borlas sounds great. Deep and agressive, yet fairly mellow in the car. It's pretty loud outside though.

So for others considering custom, I don't see why not if you know you have a good shop. Looking at it on the car, I don't see how you could bend it any different to get more flow. It is pretty straight.

So it isn't dyno tested, and never will be since there is no 4wheel dyno on the island that I know of. And it isn't mandrel bent, but again, there are no big bends that need to be made on our cars and I can't see any crimped areas looking at it. Maybe I could have gotten another 5hp with another system. But $900 more than what I paid for another 5hp? Not worth it to me. Now I can justify buying the hyperflow with the extra cash, just don't tell my wife.

Default Enjoy!

I congratulate you for breaking the mold and being original. A catback exhaust system is not hard. All a shop has to do is drop the stock and pattern the basic routing on the new to match the stock, getting rid of crimps, etc. The hp difference is nil on your system vs. a Milltek IMHO. Have to dyno to verify this either way, but in the routing of a catback there's no magic to it. There just isn't. I still may go Milltek, simply to have a system that I know fits and works without any doubt. It's just easier. No hoping that your shop "gets it right." But I'm glad to see someone thinking outside the box. Enjoy!

Im on Oahu, will be going to the track tonight so if you are on island, come on down. My cousin just got an 03 Ford Lightning and wants to race. Everyone cross your fingers for me.

I will work on that sound clip, and some video from the track.

Yeah, as I said, You have to KNOW that it is a good shop. ESH has done lost of systems for me previously on mustangs, camaros, my 340 dart, and tons of systems on all kinds of imports. so I had total confidence. Otherwise, go with something that is already made and has a good reputation.
