Automobile mag comparo...
Did anybody see that the S4 came in 3rd in a comparo with the M3 and the CTS-V. It said the S4 was not as fun as the other 2 and the suspension, handling and damping were not as well sorted out. It also said the S$ was a great highway cruiser. Ouch!!

Makes sense. S is more of a luxury sport vehicle than other two which are more "screamers"..
As for suspension, handling, just look at the weight diff. As for me, I knew exactly what I was buying and have never EVER pulled up next to an M3 and said to myself, "Gee, I wish I had bought that M3 instead."

Doesn't bother me one bit.
they could honestly tell me that the Hemi Magnum is a better wagon, and I wouldn't care.
I love this car and it's the best Audi of the 4 that I've owned.
When I first got into cars, remember reading all the magazines and seeing how some opinions would be somewhat "off" or biased. Having the knowledge now of the politics and things that go on to "enhance" those articles, I no longer look to them as a source of "non-biased" information. Entertainment? Yep. Resource, Yep. Factual information. nope...

Considered an M3 - drove both - no contest....
the S4 was so much more refined, better appointed, more attention to detail - just a more sophisticated "grown up" car. Clearly, my preference, so I bought one!! Never looked back on my decision for a second.

It's just another oppinion.
A year ago Car and Driver proclaimed the S4 a winner (vs. M3 and C32) due to--you guessed it--it's much better sorted suspension!<ul><li><a href="http://caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=15&article_id=6568">Car and Driver Article</a></li></ul>

the only reason these cars are compared are because
they produce similar results, they are upgrades over the existing a4 and 3 series and cts cars which are already competitive. if you like going to the track and enjoy bumpy raw rides on the streets, go get the m3
if you want some refined power, luxury and a more comfortable ride, then the s4 with no doubt
im young and I still chose the s4, it has way enough power to be fast and its refined, sophistication is the right word
