Default Has anyone found a fix for the premium stereo

I have the premium bose and find the midrange hollow and the base with no kick. Has anyone figured out how to fix this or modify? Thanks

Now, bear and mind I'm not a big fan of over the top band pass subs that emphasize thump instead of actually playing music. So my system is "musical" and not for winning SPL competitions or rattling the doors of the car in the next lane.

I added a single Boston ProSeries 8.5LF in a sealed enclosure driven by a Alpine MRV-T501 (class A) running bridged (300W). The sub produces fairly flat response and sounds pretty good considering the source is bose. I listen mostly to Jazz and it does a very good job of catching stuff like an upright bass or whatever. If I go crazy with the amp gain it will totally overwhelm the factory system so I've got plenty of reserve with it.

I also replaced the front factory tweeters with Dynaudio MD-100s. They fit in the stock location and make a big improvement of the cheapie factory tweeters. They're running off factory power. A very worthwhile upgrade. (I'll be posting the install article on this soon)

These two changes have made a big difference in the stock system. I'm very happy with the change.

Where did you mount the sub? Do you have a pic?

.3 cuft enclosure and I just secured it behind the seat. Easy to unplug and remove when needed.

Default Keep the head unit, get rid of the rest!

The factory stuff is CRAP! I used Diamond Hex 6.5" seperates in the front doors, An 8" Boston Pro in a really small sealed enclosure, and an ADS 6 channel amp bridged to three 150 watt channels. Sounds awsome. Just sucks that you have to get rid of all the stuff you paid extra for to get good sound as the head unit is the same regardless of premium or standard stereo.

Please provide the info on installing the Dynaudio asap, I have a Dynaudio system sitting in a box unused because the Audi ICE "expert"/dealer told it cannot be installed due to the amps that are integrated into the Bose speakers.
TIA
