Looking for a link to exact cable routing for radar hard wire.

I have searched and found a fair number of radar detector hard wire installs, and most just simply mention that they route the cable along the liner and the pillar, down to the fuse box. The head liner is pretty obvious, but I'm just wondering if anyone has a link to a post that shows exactly where to route the cable down the pillar. If I route it right against the windshield I end up down at the front of the dash and need to find a concealed way to get back to where the fuse panel is. Can I route the cable inbetween where the side and main pieces of the dash meet, or is there a better way? Also, once I get into the fuse panel, is there a "standard" fuse that everyone uses for this, or just basically use anything operates on switched power?

Thanks in advance for any help! I'm really looking forwared to concealing the cable for my Passport 8500 X50.

I used CCard and was able to insert cable between A-pillar and dash to the fuse box...

however don't know which fuse to use either (see my post below), but routing the wire was pretty easy.

I just hardwired my 8500 X50 today....

and I too ran the wire along the windshield across the top, down the A-pillar, around the sharp little corner, back thru the small crack and down into the fuse box... I used simply a credit card and a small flat blade screwdriver being careful not to puncture the wire's cover.. tap into fuse 36, the wipers, as it is switched power... Go to radio shack, buy a $4 std. phone jack w/ 8" of wire attached, and you don't have to spend the 10+ from escort.. I'll post part numbers tomorrow.. wire the green on the plug from radio shack to the hot, and yellow is ground, in which I screwed the y-clip into one of the two screws holding the map light assembly up... I also ran an inline fuse adapter (also from radio shack) w/ a 2 amp fast burning fuse for protection.
