thinking about getting stratmospheres short shifter...

Are short shifters bad for your car at all. Audi is about to install a brand spankin new tranny in my car and I would hate to have more problems beacuse of a short shifter. Also what % reduction do you guys witht them have it set at. I don't think I would set it at the maximum reduction so anyone with the midway one could greatly help me out. Also install yourself or be a lazy a$$ and pay someone to do it right?

DO IT! And no, no harm in the tranny.

It changes the actual movement from front to rear and left to right in the shaft, and has no effect on the forks or tranny if installed correctly.

And I'd do it yourself, it's easy. Also, go for the 30% reduction.

SSS is a good product. Not too hard to install. You will be happy with either setting.

Also did any of your dealers give you any crap for the mod.

It's a great mod, won't damage the tranny in any way.

I'd say go for the shortest setting. Otherwise, why bother?

Install yourself, but make certain you have the tools recommended. Especially the allen socket. If you have that, you can forego the ball end allen wrench. Also, they should be shipping the kits now with circlip pliers so you won't have to buy any.
