Default Group Buy potential for Veil's laser countermeasures stealth coating (long)

SpeedZones.com just tested some radar laser detectors, see link below. Halfway down the test page they also tested a coating from Veil that reduces or eliminates the reflection of LED signals. SpeedZones is an independant third party and they concluded that "Laser Veil performs as advertised as is awarded SML Performance Certification seal." You gotta read the article great stuff, in the tests the product reduced readings by 50-65%. So I went to their website to see about cost. They are selling the coating for $89. I sent and e-mail inquiring as to how many applications a jar is good for and if the coating would work on chrome trim such as 4 rings on an Audi grill. I got the following reply:
---------------------------------
George,
Thanks for the questions. The container of material is about 5.5 fluid
oz or a little more than 160ml. Since you do not have any front plates
(thats a good thing) I would imagine you should be able to treat perhaps
8 vehicles or 2 vehicles 4x each. That's an approximation. Veil does
go pretty far. The recommended interval is an estimate based upon our
experiences. The actual laser performance doesn't really deteriorate
over time, but depending on where and how much you drive, the coatingt
may be subject to road debris - small stones and particles of this
nature. You'll know if and when the coating needs replacing by looking
at the surface. If it is noticeably chipped away, its time to replace it.
In so far as chrome goes, Veil can be applied to chrome which will give
the chrome a polished nickle-like appearance. However, we have not
actually studied to what extent crome really plays. We have also found
that depending on the pattern of the chrome surfaces, the direction they
face or style of "grill" they may not contribute much to the overall
visual signature. Since Veil appears "semi-flat" and not glossy (for
obvious reasons) you will have to determine if its appearance on chrome
is acceptable to you.
One thing I would recommend is to take a flashlight at night and point
it at the front of you vehicles from about 50-100 feet away, preferrably
somewhere where its pretty dark (no overhead street light).
What you see with respect to your lights reflection is a rough
approximation as to what the laser will see. Pan the light around the
front to see what is most visible. That's the stuff you need to treat
with Veil. I hope this helps. Veil Corp.
--------------------------------------------
I then inquired about a group buy and while a little reluctant at first he wanted to get an idea of how many people I would be thinking of. I told him I had been an active member of a very large audi web site since 1996 and that I would test the waters to see if there was any interest in a group buy. This guy is also thinking about an RS6, so he wanted the website address. He's currently a bimmer guy so give him a break if you see his posts ;~) Anyway I gave him the web address and told him to check out the forums.
So can I get a potential show of hands of those who might be interested in a group buy on the stealth coating? Discount would depend on participants. It's a newer product on the market and he wants to protect the dealers who have invested in his product but he said he would work something out. I'm getting a jar whether there is a group buy or not but this may benefit everybody. Thanks for listening.

SpeedZones test

Default reading that report, AND YOU WONDER WHY I LOVE MY V1

damn,

some nice testing (although you know they are ALL biased), but the V1 as usual shows some damn good results!

interesting stuff.

Default I find this report far less biased then Petersons tests. Last year they picked the V1,...

that seems to have changed in this latest report and the into of the X50.

Peterson would never pick the V1 as the #1 detector even of it blew away all the competition in every catagory. He'd find something wrong with the case, or the extra money for it, the extra money for accessories, or he didn't like the on/off **** or something. He looks for any little thing to knock the V1. Him and Valentine clearly don't like each other on a personal level.

I thought the Speedzone report was very good, and they didn't give the detector I love the #1 spot, but that's OK with me in this report.

Default I've heard that this coating works too

There's a short video on the website taken from DC news. I work with law enforcement and I'll try to get a test if I can convince someone to play around with a laser gun.

Reflective coating
